There’s nothing about this car that doesn’t say, “I was created in another decade,” from the fact that it’s a body-on-frame design to its old-school luxury interior. A decade after the first GX was redesigned, Lexus has just recently upgraded the vehicle for the 2020 model year in a significant manner. Navigation, power-folding and heated external mirrors, a rear-seat reminder system, and Intuitive Parking Assist are other new standard equipment. For the first time this year, Lexus is making the Nori Green paint color available on the 2024 Lexus GX in a new trim level. The black 18-inch alloy wheels and black exterior trim pieces are part of the Black Line Special Edition, available in Nori Green, Starfire Pearl, and Black Onyx paint colors. It has black leatherette upholstery and a black headliner on the inside.
Interior
With the 2024 Lexus GX, you expect to be thrilled when you enter a Lexus, but the GX’s older age has a lot to offer. However, the cabin’s materials and craftsmanship are excellent, but it lacks a contemporary feel. Although the cabin is large, passenger space diminishes rapidly as you go through the seats.
The body-on-frame architecture significantly restricts legroom in the second and third rows, while the seats in the front are comfortable but lack high degrees of adjustability. The third-and second-row seats may be folded down to increase the available cargo capacity. This feature is only available on the Luxury trim level.
Engine
Its 4.6-liter naturally aspirated V8 produces 301 horsepower and 329 lb-ft of torque in the GX range. The GX’s 3.5-liter V6 engine, which is used in Toyota’s own Camry, generates the same power as the current four-cylinder engine, but the GX is all about smoothness and reliability. These engines aren’t the most cutting-edge, but they have shown themselves to be dependable and quiet.
Even though it’s capable of pulling a trailer and going off-road, the engine’s top speed isn’t up to snuff. With a little patience and no haste, getting about town is not a big deal, as long as you don’t mind seeing your gasoline gauge sink like a stone into the water. If you’re looking to get away from the traffic on the interstate, you’ll need to put down more than just the pedal to the metal. Everyone but accountants would appreciate an extra 50 horsepower.
2024 Lexus GX Release Date and Price
With an MSRP of $55,425 for the 2024 Lexus GX, the GX confirms that notion. At $56,750, the GX460 Premium with additional comfort amenities is the most expensive model. With the addition of the Black Line Premium Edition’s special aesthetic package, the premium model now costs $59,260. However, if you want the GX 460 Luxury, you’ll have to pony up $64,935 for the privilege. There are some external upgrades to go along with the high-tech and comfortable amenities that come with this increase. Lexus GX prices do not include taxes, registration and licensing fees or the $1,775 destination charge.
